This lesson explores what it means to be “in Christ”. In many of its instances this is probably better understood as “by Christ”, as the Gk. en is often used as a preposition of agency. In fact, “in Christ” rather connotes a sense of safety and security, whereas “by Christ” more accurately places us as fellow-soldiers of Christ, hazarding every moment in our spiritual battle alongside Him. Yes, we have security in Him, but not to rest on our spiritual laurels. He provides the armor, but we are to fight the spiritual warfare.
